Lignor's Backers

you are here: the community / our backers

Australian Federal Government:

All levels of Government have shown unwavering (and bipartisan) support to Lignor in its quest to develop and commercialise its leading edge IP to add value to Australia’s renewable resources:

In May 2006, the Federal Government agency AusIndustry, under the Commercial Ready Grant, awarded a $3.85 Million grant to Lignor to progress the company’s strategic work on research and development. This was extended through until 31 December 2009.

In October 2005, the Federal Government, with the assistance of Invest Australia, awarded the Lignor Project “Major Project Facilitation Status”, which it awards to only about 10 capital projects a year.

In July 2004, Lignor secured Federal Government endorsement for the project in the form of a $1.36 Million grant, as part of the $15 Million Forest Assistance Package granted by the former Minister for Fisheries, Forestry & Conservation, Senator The Hon Ian Macdonald. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry increased this funding by $0.7 Million in June 2006.

These major grants not only give a significant endorsement to the important regional community and value-adding imperatives of the Lignor project, but also provide important financial support to bring the project to maturity.

Western Australian Government:

The Western Australian Minister for State Development approved an $8.6 Million infrastructure package for the development of the Mirambeena Timber Processing Precinct in 2007.

A number of Western Australian Forestry Ministers have supported Lignor in its pursuit for supply of residue/thinnings from Forest Products Commission, especially now such products are independently certified.

The Great Southern Development Corporation and the Local Government have showed continued support, as has the local industry and community in the Great Southern Region.

The Lignor project has been formally endorsed by: The City of Albany, Water Corporation, Department of State Development, Albany Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The Albany City Council voted unanimously to approve the Lignor Planning Approval, upon issuance of the Works Approval (EPA) by the Department of Environment and Conservation which has been granted.

This illustrates the degree of commitment Lignor is receiving from the Australian Federal, State and Local Governmental agencies.

Lignor is very appreciative of such enthusiastic and widespread support to value-add Australia’s renewable resources.

Industry Support:

Many local industries including Southern Haulage Industries and Timber 2020 have offered great assistance.

Timber 2020, is the Great Southern Private Forestry Development Committee, promoting and facilitating private forestry development in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia and has welcomed Lignor to the region. Timber 2020 with a wide stakeholder membership is committed to working with Lignor and promoting eucalyptus ESL® and ESB® as a world first, grown and processed in the region to World’s Best Practice.

Stakeholders:

Last, but not least, thanks to our 124 Shareholders who have invested in Lignor, over a quarter of whom reinvested in the June 2009 rights issue leaving the company debt free.
